How to Play Go
It takes only minutes to understand the rules of Go. New players can advance at their own pace and with a built in and reliable handicap system, players of all skill levels can enjoy games together.

Go is called Baduk (바둑) in Korean, Wéiqí (围棋) in Chinese, and formally as Igo (囲碁) in Japanese, or colloquially as just “Go”
Go is played by over 40 million people worldwide, and is the second most played board game after Xiàngqí (Chinese Chess)
Go is the oldest game in the world still played in its original form. Some estimates are as high as 4000 years, but certainly at least 2500 years

Basic Rules
Rules-wise, Go is a simpler game than chess and takes just several minutes to pick up the basics. From there, the strategy and depth of Go can extend as far as player would like to take it. From playing causal games to studying centuries worth of opening formations, it’s all about your own individual approach to Go.
Go Strategies
Go has a far amount of strategic depth, even with its simple rules. Only recently (2016) did a supercomputer, named AlphaGo, beat a human pro player at the game. The button below will give you a head start in some of the basic strategies of the game — but remember that there’s always more to learn!
